A favorite holiday

Our Grandchildren’s favorite holiday is upon us. Are you hearing a familiar refrain, “I don’t know what to be for Halloween?” Well, you are there to help with an answer….tell them about the characters you were when you were their ages and about all the fun you had going trick or treating on the nights when the weather in the Northeast was cold and full of crunchy leaves or in the Southern states where it was still quite warm enough to wear a swim suit under a costume. You might also scrounge around in your attic or workshop for props for them. I bet there are some of Grandpa’s old work boots up there or a dance dress or two you’ve been saving that you can now offer to masquerade today’s goblins.

There is no end to the many ways in which grandparents can enrich the fun in their grandchildrens’ lives. I hope you are working on some of your favorite ways.
